Fabric Requirements

Fabric A (light) ¾ yd. [7 – 3 ½” strips x WOF]

Fabric B (dark) ¾ yd. [7 – 3 ½” strips x WOF]

Border Fabrics:

Inner Border 1/2 yd. [5 strips cut 2 ½” x WOF]

Outer Border 2/3 yd.[5 strips cut 4” x WOF]

Backing: 1 ¾ yd [44-45” fabric]

Binding: 1/3 yd [5 strips cut 2 ½” x WOF]

  1. Sew strip sets together as follows - Fabric A to Fabric B with right sides together, pressing to the darker fabric.

  1. Cut the strip sets vertically into 6 ½” sets. You should  have 42 squares/blocks.

 3. After the A and B Strip sets are cut, lay out your pattern. You should have 6 blocks across with 7 blocks down.

4. With right sides together, match the seams of row 1 with the seams of row 2  pinning as you see fit. Sew the two rows together. Repeat for rows 3-7.

5. Sew the 2 ½” borders to the top and bottom, trimming the excess border fabric

even with the rest of the quilt top. Repeat this step for the left and right side borders, piecing as necessary.

6. Add the 4” borders to the top and bottom,   trimming the excess border fabric even with the rest of the quilt top. Repeat this step for the left and right borders, piecing as necessary.

7.  Layer the quilt top over low loft cotton batting and backing. Quilt as you desire. Remember that this quilt will be loved and washed a lot, so make sure there is enough quilting to hold the quilt together for a long time. Apply binding.

 8.  Wash and dry the completed quilt. (Please do not use fabric softener).

 9.  A central drop-off has been established at the Quilt Sampler located at 6024  South Sheridan, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135 (918) 493-3388 for the return of the  completed quilt along with any fabric remnants.
